Japan Dongda team develops ultra-small satellite water jet engine

According to Kyodo News reported on June 25, the research team at the University of Tokyo in Japan has recently developed an engine that provides propulsion through water spray, which can be used for ultra-small satellites released by the International Space Station for earth observation and communication. The prototype will be transported to the space station through the unmanned cargo spaceship "Stork" No. 8 as soon as possible this year, and its performance will be investigated.

The Japan Aerospace Research and Development Agency (JAXA) began to release ultra-small satellites from the space station ’s Japanese “Hope” experiment module in 2012. Although more and more universities and companies are using it, because the satellites must be transported into the space station first, it is not possible to use engines that require hazardous chemical fuels or high-pressure gases. Therefore, many satellites have a shorter operating time and it is urgent to develop safe Power source.

Due to the subtle air resistance, the speed and altitude of the ultra-small satellite will decrease, but as long as the engine is accelerated, the altitude can be maintained. The principle of the developed water jet engine is to form a pressure by gradually evaporating the water vapor generated by the water in the vacuum container and spray it outward.

Since there is no need for high-pressure gas-resistant metal structures and safety devices, the engine can be installed in a cubic frame with a side length of about 10 cm mounted on an ultra-small satellite. According to reports, up to 400 grams of water can be used as fuel. On a standard ultra-small satellite weighing about 4 kilograms, if all the water vapor is used at once, the speed can be increased by about 50 meters per second.

Koizumi Koizumi, associate professor of Dongda University who developed the engine, said, "Water may also be collected on the moon in the future, and its development is worth looking forward to."

Cylinder Lenses are offered in both plano-concave and plano-convex configurations, they are typically used to focus incoming light to a line, or to change the aspect ratio of an image. Cylinder Lenses are available with positive or negative focal lengths, they are used for the optics, lasers, medical science, electronics, tele-communication and others.

Worldhawk can offer cylinder Lenses include Convex Cylindrical Lens , Concave Cylindrical Lens, Meniscus Cylindrical Lens, and Doublet Achromatic Cylindrical Lens ect. Choose from N-BK7 glass, UV fused silica, or CaF2, all of which are available uncoated or with an antireflection coating.

Worldhawk can provide various kinds of Cylindrical Lens with high precision, We are proud to be one of the few suppliers can detection the radius and flatness about the cylindrical lens in China. Absolutly can ensure all the products are qualified.
