Data management system for establishing communication products based on Pro/INTRALINK


Abstract: The author puts forward the bottleneck in the company's product data management, analyzes the architecture and advantages of using Pro/INTRALINK to establish a product data management system, and introduces the company's specific implementation of Pro/INTRALINK. 1 background
With the increasing number of new product development tasks, the image file management has become the bottleneck of the company's current enterprise technology platform, which has seriously hindered the application and popularization of Pro/ENGINEER. The main problems are as follows:

(1) Lack of information management for the product design process.

(2) Lack of centralized management of images.

(3) The image file query is inconvenient.

(4) There is no guarantee that the image file to be searched is the latest version, and it is difficult to ensure the consistency of the electronic image file with the traditional paper image file.

(5) The security of the file is not guaranteed.

(6) There is information island data resources that cannot be shared between design process management.

(7) Product development cannot achieve parallel engineering, and production efficiency is extremely low.

Based on the above problems, the company launched the database product management software system Pro/INTRALINK, which provides a complete solution to solve the above problems. The system can manage data files in all aspects, ensure product data resources are shared, safe and reliable, and use. Convenient.

2 Pro/INTRALINK architecture and advantages
2.1 Pro/INTRALINK architecture
The Pro/INTRALINK Client/Server architecture consists of Commonspace/Server and Workspace/Client. The user implements data transfer between the Workspace database and the Commonspace database through the check in/check out operation. The central database Date Server manages the table data, that is, metadata metadata such as user list authorization, object name, relationship, object storage location, and all client requests. And application information files; server FileServer manages engineering data such as graphics generated by Pro/ENGINEER. Users access the required data through the Pro/INTRALINK Client, the management of product data will be more scientific, and access to product data will be more efficient and faster. 2.2 Pro/INTRALINK advantages
In the NT environment, the easiest way to achieve CAD integration is to share the file, that is, by mapping the network drive, mapping a common drive letter to each login workstation, and establishing a product database through NT rights management and setting SEARCH_PATH (including Standard parts library, general parts library, etc.) to achieve the sharing of design data. The use of Pro/INTRALINK as a product data integration platform has the advantage that file sharing integration can't match. Pro/INTRALINK is Pro/ENGINEER's main workgroup management tool for product development. It enables users to drive design team collaboration and manage Pro/ENGINEER's powerful correlation functions. It provides a fast and efficient design method that supports Pro/ENGINEER. Dynamic collaborative environment. Pro/INTRALINK manages the relationship between Pro/ENGINEER products from concept to design and manufacturing, and integrates data management into the design process.

(1) High security and reliability simplified data sharing storage management. Pro/INTRALINK exchanges and stores data through Workspace and Commonspace. Workspace is usually set on this machine, which can be visually compared to the designer's work surface. Commonspace is managed by Date Server and File Server. It is the core of data storage.
