Diana Alarcon, head of the Global Economic Monitoring Center of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, said that the current global economic growth is uneven, and the development prospects of some of the least developed regions are not optimistic. She said that the growth prospects of some large developed countries and transition countries are more optimistic. The economic and employment growth in East and Southeast Asia continues to grow, but the growth in many regions is weak enough to help them achieve their sustainable development goals.
According to the report, if income inequality is not alleviated, according to the current situation, nearly 35% of the population in the least developed countries will be extremely poor by 2030.
