The South must be protected against the adverse effects of heavy precipitation in the coming week.

In the past week, the temperature in most agricultural areas of the country was high, and the average daily temperature was 4-8 °C. The soil moisture was suitable and the spring sowing progressed smoothly. Most of the southern spring sowing areas are mainly intermittent rainfall, which is beneficial to spring sowing; however, heavy rains occur in southern Hunan, eastern Guangxi and central and western Guangdong, which is unfavorable for seedling growth after transplanting. From April 6th to 8th, there were 5 to 15 millimeters of precipitation in central and southern Yunnan, which was beneficial to the sowing and emergence of spring maize and potato crops. There was still no effective precipitation in northern Yunnan and southern Sichuan, and the drought continued or developed.

At present, early rice planting in South China has basically ended, and transplanting has begun one after another; Hunan, Jiangxi, and southern Zhejiang have come to an end, and central Zhejiang has entered the peak of planting. The rice in the Sichuan Basin and the north-central Yunnan is in the stage of seedling growth, and the southern part of Yunnan enters the greening tillering stage; the cotton in the Yangtze River Basin will enter the sowing period. Dryland crops such as spring maize and spring peanuts in the southwestern region and south China have entered seedling growth.

It is expected that in the next five days, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, and the eastern part of the southwestern region will have good weather and good weather, which is suitable for spring sowing; soil moisture in northern Yunnan, southern Sichuan and eastern Inner Mongolia is not suitable for spring sowing; most of Jiangnan and South China There are many rainy days, and the precipitation in some areas of central Jiangnan and northern China is 80-120 mm. The obvious precipitation period is around 15 days, which is unfavorable for early rice planting and seedling growth.

Jiangnan should avoid planting early rice in time for heavy precipitation; after transplanting early rice in South China, fertilization should be carried out according to the condition of seedlings to promote tillering of seedlings. In southern Sichuan and central and northern Yunnan, drought and water conservation work should still be done to seize the favorable opportunity to artificially increase rainfall to ensure timely planting of rice, tobacco seedlings and dry land crops.
