Home security system centered on camera drones

In the past few years, the military has begun to use drones to perform reconnaissance missions. Now Sunflower Labs hopes to apply the same method to home security systems. The Sunflower Home Awareness System recently launched by the lab combines solar “smart lights” and camera-equipped drones.

In addition, this system also includes more than a dozen sensors. When these sensors are installed around their own yards, they can detect small vibrations and sounds around them. When the system detects some incidents, it will warn the homeowner. Then a drone equipped with a night-vision camera will help the homeowner to further check on the specific situation.

The quad-axle drone is equipped with an advanced autopilot that uses the smart light as a navigation beacon, automatically flies to the destination, and sends the video to the owner's mobile device in real time.

The Sunflower Home Awareness System is currently accepting reservations. The price of each smart light is $159, while the price of a drone is $799, but it supports installment payments.
